What are the key features of MARKE MODI?

MARKE MODI is the upgraded version of MARKE, a workboot-style model based on a versatile work rubber boot. MARKE MODI was created in response to customer feedback over the two years following the launch of MARKE and has been part of the 810s range since Fall/Winter 2022. We are always looking to offer even better 810s products in this way.

Draw lines on the previous model for brushing up

Compared to the previous model, there are three major changes. To reduce irritation felt when wearing, the position of the slit was moved from the front to the medial inside and piping was applied to the top line. In order to improve fitting, the detachable belt buckle was replaced by a fixed one. The quality of the buckle itself was also improved.

What is BESTER L 03, the roots of MARKE MODI?

BESTER L 03 is a standard, long-selling rubber boot that MoonStar has been producing for almost half a century. It’s been worn in a variety of work environments, such as wet markets or civil engineering sites. BESTER L 03 has a unique non-slip ripple sole with suction cups. When developing the early model MARKE, we considered how we could redesign the function-oriented work rubber boot to fit in with everyday wear.

BESTER is listed in MoonStar’s history book published in 1963 to commemorate its 90th anniversary.

What did you focus on to make it fit in with everyday life?

We made the silhouette of the body above the ankle slimmer and more boot-like. Although slim, with the slit, it’s easy to put on and take off. And to prevent the boots from coming off due to the slit, the belt has been attached to hold the boots in place. Another key point is that, unlike BESTER L 03, which is made of a single piece of material, MARKE MODI is made of several layers of rubber to give it a voluminous look. Also, the straight lines in the sides give a sharp impression and make your legs look slender and longer.

The sole, which is a feature of BESTER L 03, has been simplified without the ripple design. However, the suction cup design was kept to ensure slip resistance. In addition, a rubber block was added to the heel to act as a hook for taking the boots off. MARKE MODI has a thick cushioned insole for comfort, which is not often seen in rubber boots.

We would like to see people wear MAKRE MODI in all weathers, not just on rainy days. There are many shiny rubber boots out there, but MARKE MODI has a matte texture, so it is easy to fit in with everyday life. In fact, some customers wear MARKE MODI when commuting to work, especially in winter. Many female customers say it goes well with both skirts and trousers. Available in two colors: White and Charcoal. Some say the two-tone White adds a coordinated accent. We want many people, young and old, men and women alike, to wear MARKE MODI as everyday footwear while enjoying the advantages of rubber boots.
